The menu features a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary dishes, emphasizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The dishes are designed not just to satisfy your hunger but to tantalize your taste buds. For instance, indulge in their daily specials, such as the pork ragù, which one satisfied customer described as “nice and reasonably priced at about €20.” Or perhaps you’ll fall in love with the baked eggplants, which have garnered special praise for their flavor and preparation.

For a lighter option, try the pumpkin soup, recommended by Joshua, who found it “absolutely delicious” and made with locally sourced pumpkin – a testament to their commitment to fresh ingredients. Don't miss the opportunity to end your meal on a sweet note with the traditional local dessert, Schlorziflade, that Joshua and many others have found to be a real treat.

Of course, a café wouldn’t be complete without excellent coffee and desserts. Timothée F. found their hot chocolate and chai latte to be comforting companions, paired perfectly with one of their array of cakes. The chocolate cake has been recognized as one of the finest, so make sure to treat yourself!

Many reviews highlight the friendly and welcoming service, making your visit not just about the food but the overall experience. Quaint cafe by the cathedral and old library serving good food, wine and coffee. I’m addition to their menu, they have various daily specials which come with a side of salad. I had the pork ragù daily special which was nice and reasonably priced (about 20€). Their wine list also seems good too although I try it.

We spontaneously hopped into this little, cute bistro and were pleasantly surprised. The service was very nice and welcoming. We tried the pumpkin soup made from local pumpkin — freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. As a sweet ending, we enjoyed a local dessert called Schlorziflade, which was a real treat. A cozy and authentic experience we truly enjoyed!

Great place! I stayed here for a couple hours, enjoyed hot chocolate, chai latte and tasted some delicious chocolate cake, best I had in a while. The staff is friendly, the place is cosy and the prices are honest. Worth passing by, and trying one of the many sorts of cakes!

Liked it a lot. The food is more expensive compared to other cafes… but the location explains it as it’s situated right next to the Abby’s library. The service was good, the atmosphere too… :) definitely recommendable.

A pleasant place just outside of the UNESCO site St Gallen’s abbey library. I was happy with the food.
